My name is Nancy Smith, I love to crochet, and I'm a beginner knitter. I've been crocheting for over 20 years now, and I haven't lost any interest in it yet! In fact, I've learned more about it in the last three years than I ever thought possible!
Did you know there is actually a "business" side to this?! I did, but it never really registered with me until a couple of years ago when I started doing some contract crocheting for a yarn company. WOW! -were my eyes opened then!
I found out about the Crochet Guild of America, thru them I found my local guild chapter, The Happily Hooked on Crocheting Club, that meets in Danbury every month. I have made some wonderful new friends because of using my hook!
I am an Associate Professional with CGOA, and I've had some patterns published so far, with more coming soon. I'm working on getting a few more patterns written up now.
If you have an interest in getting something made up for you or someone else, drop me a note. I am available for customized items also!
My Hubby always wondered what I liked about working with yarn. I always told him it was cheaper than paying a therapist -- "r-i-i-i-p!" Seriously, I love the feeling of satisfaction that I get when I start with a piece of "string" and can turn it into just about anything I could possibly imagine. My daughter Missyboo loves that I can make her a scarf, hat, or mittens, a top, a dress, a skirt, or a purse. Sooo many things, sooo little time!
One stitch at a time.
